New Deal Art Tour at William Jefferson Clinton Federal Building

Friday, February 7, 2025 at 3pm
(happy hour to follow)

Come join SHFG for a special tour of the Clinton Building with GSA Fine Arts Specialist, Nick Hartigan.

The current home of the EPA boasts an impressive collection of New Deal era murals, including over 20 paintings and frescoes that depict a “romantic history” of the U.S. Postal Service. This is a rare opportunity to see a full program of murals in their original context and offers a unique snapshot of America in the 1930s that captures the hopes, ideals, and ingrained cultural attitudes of the country at that time.

Logistics:
Please meet at the top of the escalator exit for the Federal Triangle Metro Station at 2:55 pm.

If you have a PIV card please bring that otherwise bring another government-issued photo ID. The tour is expected to last about an hour and a half then we'll head to happy hour nearby.
